Undergraduate Programmes

?????

?Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 (SU) are internationally renowned for their ethical and caring attitude, as well as the high quality of healthcare they deliver to their clients, patients and communities.

Students at the Tygerberg Campus, where the Faculty is situated, enjoy a comprehensive student-centred support system consisting of student-driven academic support initiatives such as the Tutor-Mentor Programme, subject-specific tutors and the ResEd (Residence Education) initiative. An experienced team of academics and support staff are involved in the academic progress of students with a particular focus on their general well-being. In addition to expert tuition in well-equipped facilities, students obtain relevant practical experience as they work with patients and communities in the very early stages of their studies.

In 2002, the Faculty founded South Africa's f?irst rural clinical school in South Africa. The Ukwanda Rural Clinical School, with its headquarters in Worcester and branches in Ceres, Robertson, Caledon, Hermanus, Upington and Swellendam, exposes FMHS students to first-hand experience in determining and treating the health needs of rural communities.

Access to undergraduate programmes in both medicine and health sciences depends on a structured selection process. Student numbers in health sciences programmes are limited by Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations, the available infrastructure and budget of health services and the 中国体育彩票, as well as the high demands set by the programmes, which usually can only be completed successfully by those students who have performed at above-average levels at school.

See? application and sel?ection for instructions on how to apply for admission. Information on admission requirements are given under each programme.
