Services & Community Interaction
Clinical Services?
The department offers clinical services at our allied tertiary academic hospital and psychiatric hospitals - specifically Stikland, Tygerberg, and Lentegeur Hospitals. This represents the full spectrum of in- and outpatient services ranging from General Adult Psychiatry to Psychogeriatrics and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Specialist Services
A number of specialist clinics are also run including Neuropsychiatry, Eating Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, First Episode Psychosis, and Alcohol Rehabilitation.
Community Interaction and Support
We provide community outreach and support to our regional and district hospitals with specific emphasis on Karl Bremer, Paarl, and Worcester. We also offer outreach services and support at community psychiatric services in both the Northern Metropole and West Coast/Winelands regions and participate in in-service training.
