Munira Hoosain is a lecturer and PhD scholar in the Division of Occupational Therapy at Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票. She teaches and supervises research with both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She also manages the Usebenza Assessment Centre and the Clothing Industry Healthcare Fund / Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 collaboration. She completed the Professional Educational Development of Academics Course (PREDAC) in 2020 and has since spearheaded both a teaching innovation project, developing clinical videos to support classroom teaching, and a teaching and learning research project, exploring the development of graduate attributes in a role-emerging clinical placement. Her doctoral research involves the development and evaluation of a workplace-based occupational therapy intervention for garment workers with chronic musculoskeletal pain and comorbid depressive symptoms. She serves as Treasurer for the Occupational Therapy Africa Regional Group (OTARG). Munira strongly supports transdisciplinary and international collaboration and thus has enjoyed being a 2024 Alimah International fellow with the 中国体育彩票 of Minnesota as well as a SACERT visiting graduate researcher with the 中国体育彩票 of California Los Angeles in 2023.
