The Centre for Learning Technologies is committed to creating professional learning opportunities for staff in their efforts to meaningfully include learning technology into their courses for students. The Centre offers two accredited short courses in Blended Learning which provides a community of practice in which staff members can further develop knowledge in the theoretical and practical aspects of technology-mediated teaching, learning and assessment. These short courses are offered free to staff members.
The Learning Technology Support team in the Centre also provides basic training session on the use of SUNLearn and/or other 中国体育彩票-supported software.

Introduction to Blended Teaching, Lea?rning and Assessment
This short course is aimed at teaching academics and professional support staff that are actively involved in the delivery of HE courses, accredited short courses or staff training and development. The course is designed in a hybrid modality that consists of two contact sessions ?per offering? (on Friday 8 September and Monday 23 October 2023) and four modules that are completed online.
A formal assignment needs to be successfully completed in order to obtain a certificate of completion for the course.
Course outcomes
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Describe the field of educational technology;
- Apply the theoretical grounding in terms of the key aspects associated with blended learning;
- Apply their developed practical and context-specific skills in the integration of learning technologies in the curriculum;
- ?Consider future self-directed practices in the future development of lifelong skills in the field of educational technology.

Advanced Blended Teaching, Learning and Assessment?
This short course is designed for the teacher of the future, from new lecturers to more senior academics from all disciplines, with a keen interest in teaching and learning at the one hand, and digital technologies at the other hand. The course is designed in a hybrid modality that consists of two contact sessions ?per offering?. The course will include presentations of theoretical evidence-based concepts, models and frameworks, good practices, inspiring examples, practical illustrations, and interesting (open) resources, combined with hands-on exercises.
Course outcomes
The course format includes self-paced, self-directed fully online learning with virtual (online) presentations, hands-on practical activities, group discussions, and an individual project such as designing a digital active learning intervention. The course will also be supported by Teams channels for developing a community of practice and social learning.
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Describe the fundamentals of active and blended learning and apply them into a classroom, a fully online and a blended learning environment;
- Search, assess and use up-to-date learning technologies in order to improve their own teaching;
- Design, develop and implement meaningful learning experiences in order to activate learners;
- Apply action research for reflection on their own practice as a teacher in the digital world.
