?The readmission process for undergraduate students is governed by Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票’s readmission rules and process, as stipulated in the 中国体育彩票 General Yearbook, Part 1 ,? for 2025 under the heading “Readmission after unsuccessful studies."
The readmission requirements for SU?’s undergraduate programmes are now quantified in terms of academic year and cumulative credit requirements.?
In accordance with these rules, undergraduate students must obtain (pass) a certain number of credits in a particular academic year to continue with their studies. Students who do not obtain sufficient credits, and who subsequently do not comply with the rea?dmission requirements, will not be allowed to continue with their studies. Please click ?HERE to view the credit requirements per faculty.
Students may appeal academic exclusion, by applying for readmission to ONE academic programme for 2025. Appeals for readmission will be considered by the Readmission Appeals Committee of the respective faculty.

Important information?
Please carefully read the below information outlining the steps to submit your appeals application form, payment details and other important information related to the readmission appeals process.
-
Academic year credit requirements refer to the percentage of credits that students must pass for each academic year (e.g. BSc first year, or BSc second year etc).
Example
If the total credits for compulsory modules of the relevant academic year amounts to 120 credits and the readmission requirement is that a student must pass 50% of the academic year’s credits, the student must pass 120 credits X 50% = 60 credits by the end of the academic year. -
Cumulative credit requirements refer to the combined percentage of credits that students must pass for all the academic years that they have been registered for in a programme.
Example
If the combined credits for compulsory modules of each academic year (year 1 and year 2) amounts to 246 credits (the student is in their second year at SU in a BSc programme and the credits for BSc first year = 120 and BSc second year = 126) and the cumulative requirement is that a student must pass 70% of the cumulative credits, the student must pass 246 credits X 70% = 172 credits by the end of their second year. -

Exceptions
If due to the relevant programme’s prerequisite or corequisite requirements, you are limited from taking the full credit load for a particular academic year and you have obtained at least 80% of credits taken in a particular academic year, the relevant faculty may grant you automatic readmission, even though you may not meet the relevant academic year and/or cumulative credit requirements fully.?

If you do not want to apply for readmission now – or if you do apply for readmission but are not readmitted – and you want to apply for readmission to SU in the future, you will first have to prove that you are capable of successful studies at a tertiary institution. For this purpose, you will have to pass applicable modules in your field of study, of the same standard and workload as those of the SU, to be considered for readmission to SU. You can do these modules at any university of your choice.
Clearly indicate on the readmission application form to which programme you wish to be readmitted. You may apply for readmission to the same or a different programme in the faculty where you were previously registered, or to a programme in a different faculty, but you are only allowed to apply for readmission to one programme. If your application for readmission to that programme is not successful, you will not be allowed to apply for readmission to a different programme, or as a special student.
Please note that if you were not previously registered for any of the following programmes, you are not eligible to apply for readmission to these specific programmes: ??
- B of Social Work
- BA (Sport Science)

- BSc (Food Science)
