The community includes MBChB, Allied Health, and Postgraduate Health Sciences students. Osler forms part of the TygerMaties Cluster, which also comprises the six residences on Tygerberg campus. All members of the TygerMaties Cluster belong to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Osler's Mentorship Program provides support, guidance, and a sense of community to newcomers. Each newcomer is paired with a mentor who has successfully navigated the challenges of early university life.
The program includes group sessions, one-on-one meetings, and interactions with other mentor groups, as well as opportunities to connect with students from Tygerberg residences. Its goal is to help newcomers build meaningful relationships and feel welcomed into the Tygerberg Campus community. Whether extroverted or introverted, all participants are supported in their transition to university life.??

Osler offers a variety of initiatives for it's members:
Culture – The Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 A cappella Competition (SUAC), hosted by the Culture Committee (KuKo), is a platform where groups compete to be crowned champions. Osler's 2022 a cappella team, "Helseros," won the title of Champions among mixed groups. Osler also hosts culture evenings with Tygerberg residences, where students showcase their talents.
Critical Engagement – Osler facilitates sessions on important topics in safe, non-judgmental spaces. Guided by a facilitator, these discussions encourage open-mindedness, learning, and meaningful engagement, helping students step out of their comfort zones.
Leadership – Osler's leadership includes the House Committee, Mentors, Men Tuts, the Junior Committee, and various subcommittees supporting individual portfolios.
Sports – Osler students can participate in a variety of sports, including netball, rugby, hockey, tennis, soccer, squash, athletics, and basketball.
Social – Activities include dances, hikes, night markets, movie nights, and more.
