Responsibilities and experiential training can include:
- ?Living collections care, including daily tasks like weeding and watering
- Seed banking, propagation and micropropagation
- Development of interpretation and communication materials
- Assisting with conservation fieldwork and surveys
- Collections database maintenance
- Interaction with the public
- Hosting educational visitors like school groups or garden clubs
We are looking for passionate graduates who can upskill and contribute to our strategy and mission across one or more skill growth areas:
- Commitment to and passion for learning and implementing advanced horticultural skills
- Eagerness to research and record protocols for diverse plant collections
- Interest in science communication and ability to create compelling interpretation materials
- Conservation work, including ex situ plant conservation collection management, collection, population genetics and display development
Requirements:
- ?South African nationality
- ?A Bachelors, Honours, Masters, BTech or equivalent in botany, horticulture, ecology, conservation, biology, or similar
