Navorsingsopsomming
Die Zininga Groep fokus op die ondersoek van die rol van molekulere begeleiders in proteienvouding in selle onder stres. Ons hooffokus is op die malaria agente Plasmodium spp. Die parasiete is afhanklik van robuuste proteienvoudingsmasjinerie vir hulle oorlewing in stresvolle omgewings. Ons hoop om die parasiet se proteienvoudingsisteem beter te verstaan en ons beoog om hierdie kennis toe te pas op ander siektes.
