Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 Immunology Research Group (SU-IRG)

The? Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 Immunology Research Group (SU-IRG)  is a multi-disciplinary academic team of scientists, doctors, nurses, laboratory personnel, and students, led by Prof Gerhard Walzl and is situated within the Division of Immunology, Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. 

SU-IRG was established in 2002 and has since been involved in numerous international and local research collaborations, contributing amongst others, to the fields of Immunology, tuberculosis, diabetes, and HIV.  Our main focus areas include tuberculosis biomarkers, clinical TB research, and site-of-disease immunity. 

The SU-IRG includes the Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI) Clinical Team, which was established in 2016. The BMRI Clinical Team is responsible for all clinical research operations involving volunteer study participants. This includes recruitment, enrolment and follow-up of participants, as well as sample collection and the collection of clinical data.?
