Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry, Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry, Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic, multidisciplinary group of researchers in the Neuropsychiatric Genetics Research group. The overarching aim of the research to be undertaken by the postdoctoral fellow will be to investigate the association between dietary intake and metabolic syndrome in PTSD, Schizophrenia and Parkinson’s Disease, and to investigate potential factors (gut microbial composition and DNA methylation) that may mediate this relationship.
The candidate is expected to have a record of publication in in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in any area of the biomedical sciences.
Candidates will be expected to:
- solve problems collaboratively and independently ?

- have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- work well within a team
- have a track record of collaboration with scientific researchers
- contribute to the writing and submission of journal manuscripts
- perform supervisory/co-supervisory duties
- assist with writing/co-writing funding applications
Requirements:
- South African citizen or permanent resident
- PhD degree in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or related field, obtained within the last 5 years
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
The candidate will be supported to attend a national congress for which expenses will be covered.
The fellowship is tenable for one year with the possibility to extend to a second year, depending on satisfactory progress. The fellowship is tax-free, provided certain conditions are met.
