Directions - DIRECTIONS TO STELLENBOSCH FROM CAPE TOWN
RECOMMENDATION
We recommend that visitors who wish to come to Stellenbosch directly from Cape Town or Cape Town International Airport use rental cars for the trip.
If this is impossible, please consult the information desk at your hotel or the airport regarding transport options to Stellenbosch.
We advise visitors who wish to travel to Cape Town from the airport to do the same or to use the airport MyCiTi bus service to the city centre.
DIRECTIONS
The distance from Cape Town to Stellenbosch is approximately 50 km. Follow the N1 freeway to Paarl. Turn off at Exit 39 (Stellenbosch) and turn right onto the R305. Follow the road to Stellenbosch. Reaching the town, turn left into Merriman Avenue at the fifth set of traffic lights.
At the second set of traffic lights turn right into Ryneveld Street. Pass one building on the left, then turn left immediately at the entrance to the visitors' parking area. Visitors' parking is also available at all areas marked with "Parking" on the map below. The IPB is located in the Natural Science Building, number 57 on the map.

DIRECTIONS
The distance from Cape Town International Airport to Stellenbosch is approximately 35 km.
Follow the Airport Approach Road towards Cape Town. Turn left at the Somerset West exit onto the N2 freeway. Turn off at Exit 33, then left into Baden-Powell Road, which is the R310 (approximately 23 km to go). Follow Baden-Powell until you reach a T-junction; turn right. Continue past the Stellenbosch train station until you reach the set of traffic lights where you can turn right into Merriman Avenue. From Merriman Avenue, follow the instructions above.
