??Welcome to Stellenbosch for the 2024 ANIME Conference!

We are excited to host you from 10 to 13 November 2024 for the 3rd ANIME Annual Event. This conference will gather members from the ANIME network to advance our work in the three core themes: Inclusiveness, Multilingualism, and Excellence. We hope the event provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen collaboration within the network. Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 aims to provide the perfect environment to nurture these connections.

Important Information:

Registration:

  • We are accepting registrations until 18 October 2024. 
  • There is no registration fee for the conference.
  • Register here

Accommodation:

  • Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 will cover accommodation costs for two participants per member institution, from 8 November - 14 November.  
  • Once registered, you will receive confirmation of your accommodation.? 

Transport:

  • Please note that Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 will not be covering flights. However, airport shuttles will be available for all delegates from the airport to hotels and back to the airport. You can book your shuttle using the link here
  • Ground transportation to and from the conference venue will be provided as much as possible.

Pre-Conference Engagements:

ANIME participants are invited to join the pre-conference engagements at SU should they choose to extend their stay in Stellenbosch and link the SU staff programme with the ANIME programme. Below are the engagements:

    • SU International Staff Week
      Dates: 4-8 November.
      Details: A week of activities, workshops, and networking opportunities tailored for international staff. This is a great chance to connect with SU staff and learn more about their international initiatives.

    • UNESCO Chair on Intercultural Competence Report Launch
      Date: Wednesday, 6 November.
      Details: Attend the launch event for the publication on the role of higher education in the intercultural integration of migrants. This event will provide valuable insights into current research and practices in intercultural competence.

    • ?Please note that all expenses for attendance of the staff week (accommodation, meals, etc.) are for the participant's own account.?

    • Tour of the Cape Peninsula
      Date: Saturday, 9 November.?
      Details: A complimentary tour provided by SU for all interested ANIME participants. This tour will give you the chance to explore the scenic beauty of the Cape Peninsula.? Register for the tour here?

?Visa-exempt ordinary passport holders can enter the country as visitors, as the conference will only last a few days. However, non-visa-exempt ordinary passport holders must apply for a visitor visa to attend the conference. Please note that the list subject to change: 

Where to apply for a temporary residence visa: 

Any international visitor who wants to enter South Africa must apply for the appropriate temporary residence visa at:

  • the South African diplomatic representative in his/her country of origin, or
  • at a South African diplomatic representative in a neighbouring country if there is no ?

Applications for temporary residence visas are processed and finalised at the foreign offices of the Department of Home Affairs. Arrangements to travel to South Africa must only be made once the temporary residence visa has been issued. ?
